Bringing Art to Downtown Paragould: A Community Mural Project Like No Other

This past weekend, I had the incredible opportunity to coordinate and lead a massive community mural project in Art Alley for Downtown Paragould. What started as an ambitious vision quickly became a vibrant reality, thanks to the hard work and enthusiasm of over 50 volunteers who came together to transform a 90-foot wall into a breathtaking display of color and creativity.

This event marked the launch of what we hope will be an ongoing, ever-evolving public art project for downtown—one that reflects the energy, creativity, and community spirit of Paragould. And when I say we worked fast, I mean it. In just three hours, we completed all eight mural designs! I’m still in awe of how seamlessly everything came together.

Of course, an event like this doesn’t happen overnight. As a Main Street Paragould board member, I worked alongside our team to ensure everything was prepped in advance—backgrounds painted, designs sketched, and all supplies ready to go. But nothing could have prepared me for the overwhelming response from our volunteers. Artists, families, students, and community members of all ages showed up, paintbrushes in hand, eager to bring these murals to life. Their dedication and teamwork made the impossible possible, and I couldn’t be prouder of what we accomplished together.
